What are the objectives of the scheme?

The scheme was initiated in the
year 1st July 1967
a.
To
abolish caste and community feelings based on birth
b.
To
abort evils of untouchability and encourage intercaste marriages

What is the assistance provided under this scheme?
|
The following assistance are
provided under this scheme:
a.
SCHEME-I
Rs.20, 000 (Rs.10, 000 in the form of National Saving Certificate and
Rs.10,000 in the form of Demand draft/Cheque) if one of the spouse belongs
to SC/ST.
b.
SCHEME-II
Rs.15, 000 (Rs.10, 000 in the form of National Saving Certificate and
Rs.5000 in the form of Demand draft/Cheque) for an individual of forward
community marries a BC/MBC person.

What are the criteria for availing the benefit under this
scheme?
|
The criteria for availing the
benefits under this scheme are:
1.
No
income limit for availing assistance under this scheme.
2.
The
minimum age limit of bride should be 18 years and should not exceed 30
years.

Who are the beneficiaries under this scheme?
|
The inter caste marriage couples
are beneficiaries under this scheme.

|
For the year 2010-2011 what is the budget estimated to be
allocated for this scheme?

For the year 2010-2011 Rs.535.50
Lakh has been allocated in the budget for the beneficiaries under this
scheme
|

What is the time limit for sending the application?
|
The application has to be sent
within 2 years from the date of marriage.

What are the certificates to be enclosed while sending the
application for availing the scheme?
|
The following certificates to be
enclosed while sending the application:
1.
Marriage
invitation card
2.
Marriage
registration certificate
3.
Community
certificate of the bride and the bridegroom
4.
Age
certificate of the bride

What is the estimated time limit for the process of
applications?
|
From the date of receipt of
applications, it will be processed within 15 days.
